Aeros blank Curve

Associated Press ALTOONA, Pa. Kyle Evans tossed six shutout innings to help the Akron Aeros beat the Altoona Curve 6-0 Wednesday and give the Aeros their ninth win in 10 games. Evans (3-0) struck out three and left with a 1-0 lead. The Aeros broke it open with four unearned runs in the eighth. Akron loaded the bases with no outs and scored four runs on a pair of Curve errors. Ryan Church hit his seventh homer in the ninth. Altoonas Mike Connolly (3-4) allowed a run on five hits in 6 2-3 innings. Akron won in Altoona for the fifth straight time this season and for the 12th time in 14 games going back to last year.
