The Hiram men’s basketball team opened the 2012-13 season with a 93-84 non-conference victory over visiting Mount Union on Saturday.
The Terriers shot 48 percent from 3-point range, burying 12 long-range bombs as six different players hit 3-pointers. Aaron Stefanov hit three 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 23 points, while teammate Alan Sheppard also hit three 3s and scored 21 points. Justin Wisniewski added 15 points and eight rebounds.
Hiram (1-0) also hit 27-of-33 free throws, while the Purple Raiders (1-3) went 18-of-21 from the charity stripe.
Jarrett Ruffin led Mount Union with 20 points and eight rebounds.
