Mentor QB Mitch Trubisky is AP Mr. Football 2012

COLUMBUS -- Mentor quarterback Mitch Trubisky already had a legendary career. He burnished it with a legendary playoff run.

Now the 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior has been rewarded for his accomplishments on and off the field by being selected as the 26th winner of the Associated Press Mr. Football award, given annually to the best player in Ohio.

The North Carolina signee, also an outstanding student, passed for more than 4,000 yards and 42 touchdowns and ran for 835 yards and 18 TDs, helping to carry the Cardinals to the state semifinals.
