EVANSTON, Ill. -- Kent State senior Dustin Kilgore claimed his fifth tournament title of the season Sunday at the Midlands Championships inside Northwestern's Welsh-Ryan Arena. In a battle of the nation's top two wrestlers at 197 pounds, Kilgore topped Pitt's Matt Wilps 4-2 in the championship round.

Extending his NCAA winning streak to 41 matches, Kilgore went 5-0 on the weekend with two technical falls and a pair of major decisions. He trailed Wilps 1-0 in the second period, before taking the lead with a takedown. Kilgore's reversal to start the third period provided a three-point cushion.

Kilgore (22-0) has now defeated three different top -five opponents this season, including a 19-4 tech fall over Mario Gonzalez in the semifinals Sunday.
