RAVENNA 2,266, SPRINGFIELD 2,158
The Ravenna Ravens improved their record to 3-0 in the Portage Trail Conference Metro Division and 9-0 overall as they beat the Springfield Spartans at Bill White's Akron Lanes 2,266 to 2,158 on Monday.
Ravenna's Dylan Montgomery continued his string of 200 games, this time bowling a 205-224 for a 429 series. Jason Kalbaugh tossed the high individual game for the Ravens -- a 232.
The Spartans' Garrett Masters was the best on the lanes for Springfield, bowling a 212 high game as Springfield dropped to 1-2 in the PTC Metro and 3-6 overall.
KENT ROOSEVELT 2,407, CRESTWOOD 2,365
It was another close one for the Rough Riders as they pulled ahead of the Red Devils, winning the match by 42 pins.
Kent Roosevelt, now with four victories in six starts in the Metro Division, had several bowlers over the 200 mark, including Chris Hoskin's 233-413, along with Joey Swanson's 207 and Ben Langstaff's 205.
Crestwood's Ryan Ambler tossed a 413 series with a 211 game and Matt Lyons added a 216 to the Red Devils' efforts. The Red Devils drop to 1-1 in the PTC Metro.
GARFIELD 2,406, ROOTSTOWN 1,648
It took little time for the G-Men to earn a decisive victory over the young Rovers at Bill White's Twin Star Lanes.
The G-Men improved their record to 2-1 in the PTC County Division with solid performances by Kyle Brigham (233-205--438) and Mikey Schustrich (227).
The Rovers were led by Nait Elkins' 174.
WOODRIDGE 2,358, EAST CANTON 2,042
Woodridge remained undefeated in the PTC County Division, beating the East Canton Hornets at Legend Lanes in Cuyahoga Falls.
The Bulldogs 3-0 record remained intact thanks to an outstanding game of 255 by Bryson Swain and a 225 by Landon Leipold.
East Canton's Jonah Haas rolled the high game for the Hornets, bowling a 191 game.
GIRLS BOWLING
SPRINGFIELD 2,100, RAVENNA 1,899
The Springfield Spartans remained undefeated in the Portage Trail Conference Metro Division, defeating Ravenna 2,100 to 1,899 at Bill White's Akron Lanes on Monday.
The Spartans improved their record to 3-0 in the Metro and 8-2 overall behind the solid scoring of Chelsea Crihfield, who tossed a 180-192 on her way to a 372 series. Jordan Bever helped her team to the victory, rolling a high game of 197 for Springfield.
Despite the loss that dropped Ravenna to 0-3 in the PTC Metro, Natalie Hartong had an outstanding series for the Ravens, bowling a 212-201 for a 413 series.
KENT ROOSEVELT 2,276, CRESTWOOD 2,024
The Rough Riders improved their record to 4-2 in the PTC Metro, beating the Red Devils at Sky Lanes 2,276 to 2,024.
Kent Roosevelt was led by Trayce Harris, who finished with a 403 series, including a 221 game, while Micayla Moore added a 203, Makayla Dulaney a 201 and Kaitlyn Jastromb a 190 in the balanced attack.
The Red Devils best effort was bowled by Courtney Berish, who had one of the high games of the season among PTC girls, a 253.
GARFIELD 2,078, ROOTSTOWN 1,430
The Garfield girls remained perfect in the PTC, improving their record to 3-0 in the County Division by beating the Rootstown Rovers at Bill White's Twin Star Lanes.
Garfield's Jessica Potteiger warmed up the lanes and then smashed the pins for a 232 game for the high effort of the match. Anna Brigham added a 165 game and Olivia Doraski tossed a 182 in a 345 series to help the G-Men.
Rootstown's Casey Ladd bowled 152 game and Morgan Revels a 148 for the home team.
WOODRIDGE 1,541, EAST CANTON 1,424
The Bulldogs earned a PTC County Division victory over rival East Canton at Legend Lanes.
Woodridge received a solid game from Maia Steadman, who found her way to a 296 game.
East Canton's Kayla Passwater was the best for the Hornets, bowling a 149.
