Akron 68, Northern Illinois 53

DE KALB, Ill. -- Reggie McAdams scored 20 points, making all six of his shots from the field, and Akron breezed past Northern Illinois 68-53 on Saturday.

McAdams made all four of his 3-point attempts for the Zips (11-4, 2-0 Mid-American), who have won seven in a row. He missed one of his five free-throw tries.

Nick Harney had 12 points and seven rebounds, Demetrius Treadwell had 11 points and nine rebounds and Deji Ibitayo also had 11 points for Akron.

Darrell Bowie scored 13 points to lead Northern Illinois (3-11, 1-1). Abdel Nader scored 10 for the Huskies, who were coming off a MAC-opening win at Miami of Ohio that ended their five-game losing streak.

Ohio 61, Western Michigan 59

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- D.J. Cooper had 16 points and six assists, leading Ohio to a 61-59 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.

Reggie Keely added 10 points for the Bobcats (11-5, 2-0 Mid-American), who overcame 17 turnovers and held on after leading by 12 points midway through the second half.

Jared Klein led Western Michigan (8-7, 0-1) with a career-high 18 points. Shayne Whittington added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Broncos, who shot just 28 percent from the field.

Ohio used a 12-2 run to build a 43-31 lead with 12:47 remaining, and still led by 10 with 8:35 to go.

A 19-6 Broncos run got them within 58-55 with 2:26 left, and a steal and layup by Klein with 7 seconds to go made it 60-59. Cooper hit 1-of-2 free throws for Ohio with 6 seconds left, and a 3-point attempt by Brown at the buzzer missed for Western Michigan.

Bowling Green 46, Eastern Michigan 44

BOWLING GREEN -- Jordan Crawford made a 3-pointer with 7 seconds left to lift Bowling Green to a 46-44 win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday night.

Bowling Green trailed 44-41 with 2:32 left in the second half when Eastern Michigan's Derek Thompson made a free throw. A'uston Calhoun made a layup and Crawford knocked down the game-winning shot for the Falcons (6-9, 1-1 Mid-American Conference).

Thompson attempted a 3-pointer the Eagles (7-9, 0-2), but it missed and sealed the victory for Bowling Green -- which snapped a five-game losing streak.

Calhoun finished with 17 points and Crawford scored 11 points on 4-of-16 shooting and nine turnovers for the Falcons.

Thompson was the only Eastern Michigan player to score in double figures with 11 points. Jamell Harris finished with 11 rebounds and Da'Shonte Riley had 10 boards.

The Eagles have lost four straight.

Kent Roosevelt High School graduate Cameron Black finished the game with two points, four rebounds and a steal for the Falcons.

Miami (Ohio) 58, Buffalo 57

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Allen Roberts scored 22 points and made two free throws with 6 seconds left to help Miami (Ohio) edge Buffalo 58-57 in a Mid-American Conference game on Saturday night.

Miami led 51-31 on Geovonie McKnight's free throws with 11:01 left, but Buffalo cut the score to 54-42 at 2:57. Buffalo took a 57-56 lead on Jevon McCrea's free throws with 1:01 remaining, but Roberts saved the win with his foul shots.

Will Felder scored 12 for the Redhawks (6-8, 1-1), who snapped a two-game losing streak. It was Miami's first victory at Buffalo since 2008.

McCrea had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls (5-11, 0-2), and Cameron Downing score 11 points. Buffalo has lost three in a row.

Miami shot 47.7 percent from the field (21-of-44) and held Buffalo to 37 percent (20-of-54). Buffalo was 2-of-19 on 3-pointers.
