Garrettsville's Zivoder is key in double-digit win for Hiram

Hiram 74, Kenyon 63

The Terriers lifted themselves over the .500 mark for the sason with a double-digit home victory on Saturday.

The Terriers were led by Aaron Stefanov, who had 23 points on six field goals and a perfect 6-of-6 day at the free-throw line.

Garfield High School graduate Steve Zivoder also had a big game for Hiram (8-7, 2-4 NCAC), finishing with 17 points. He had four made field goals and was 9-of-10 from the line. A third Hiram player, Alan Sheppard with his 14 points, reached double figures in scoring.

The two teams battled to a 31-31 tie at the break, then Hiram went on to outscore Kenyon (7-8, 1-5 NCAC) 43-32 in the second half.

Women's Basketball

Kenyon 74, Hiram 44

Kenyon stormed out to a 44-20 lead by halftime over Hiram on Saturday and the Terriers were never able to recover in the second half as they were handed a lopsided defeat.

Kenyon (12-4, 6-1 NCAC) was led offensively by Kayla Ernst's 21 points, while Maureen Hirt added 19 points.

Hiram's top scorer was Calysia Smyers, who had 13 points, while Alexis Kemper added 11 and Kelsey Koskinen had 10 points for the Terriers (6-10, 1-6 NCAC).
