Ohio State runs out of steam in 3OT loss to Purdue

The Ohio State Buckeyes women's basketball team took 12th-ranked Purdue into three overtimes, but ran out of steam and lost to the Boilermakers 82-75.

The two teams battled ferociously throughout the game, but it was Purude that outlasted Ohio State, outscoring the Buckeyes 14-7 in the third and final extra session.

Ohio State (10-7, 0-4 Big Ten) had three players reach double figures, led by Ameryst Alston, who had 24 points. She also had six rebounds and five assists. Teammates Raven Ferguson and Darryce Moore each had 16 points, with Moore adding a team-high 12 rebounds.

For Purdue, the team was led offensive by Courtney Moses' 24 points. She added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in the game.

Sam Ostarello had a superb game for the Boilermakers (14-2, 3-0 Big Ten), finishing with nearly a triple-double in 22 points, 19 rebound and eight block shots. Drey Mingo was Purdue's third player in double-digits with 17 points.
