Streetsboro High School football standout Brandon Gency was recently selected to play in the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association's North-South All-Star game.

Gency, who was also the team's starting quarterback, was chosen to participate in the game as a linebacker. He becomes the second Streetsboro player in school history to be tabbed for the game, joining offensive lineman Alex Todd, who represented the Rockets in 2012, and is now on the Indiana University football team.

The game is scheduled to be played in Dayton on April 27.

Gency finished the 2012 season with 85 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and scored one defensive touchdown.

The great season led to a number of postseason honors, including First Team All-Metro Division, First Team Northeast Inland All-District and Special Mention All-Ohio.
