Tilden named Academic All-District at Lourdes

Ravenna High School graduate Lauren Tilden was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team last week. Tilden, a sophomore guard at Lourdes University, made the team that is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Tilden was one of only five student-athletes across a 15-state district to earnthe prestigious honor.

"Lauren really works hard both in the classroom and on the basketball court," Lourdes University head coach Zareth Gray said. "To be one of only five players across a 15-state district is truly extraordinary. She's one of the top 3-point shooters in our conference and spends just as much time with her studies."

Tilden has started 23-of-25 games this season for the Gray Wolves. She is averaging 7.1 points per game and has made a team-leading 45 3-point field goals on the year. She ranks second on the team with 38 assists and is shooting 82.4 percent from the free-throw line this season.

In the classroom, Tilden sports a 3.88 cumulative grade point average in early childhood education.

Tilden is the first Lourdes women's basketball player to earn Academic All-District accolades in program history.
