MAC Men's Basketball: Ohio cruises to 69-42 victory over Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Walter Offutt scored 17 points, T.J. Hall added 10 and Ohio rode a dominant first half to a 69-42 victory at Ball State on Wednesday night.

Offutt was 6-of-9 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, for the Bobcats (16-6, 7-1 Mid-American), who never trailed, led 34-14 at halftime and stretched their advantage to as many as 29 points in the second half.

Jauwan Scaife scored 18 points for the Cardinals (8-13, 2-7), but no other Ball State player had more than six points. Majok Majok, the MAC's rebounding leader at 10.4 per game entering play, had nine rebounds but scored just four points. The Cardinals shot just 26.5 percent from the field and now has lost three straight and seven of eight.

The victory was just Ohio's sixth in 24 games against Ball State in Muncie.

Eastern Michigan 65, Buffalo 46

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Glenn Bryant had 17 points and four blocks as Eastern Michigan pulled away in the second half for a 65-46 victory over Buffalo on Wednesday.

The Eagles (11-11, 4-4 Mid-American) led 37-35 early in the second half when Daylen Harrison, Bryant and Austin Harper hit three straight baskets to start a 16-4 run that made it 53-39 with 9:16 remaining. The lead stayed in double digits the rest of the way as Eastern Michigan held the Bulls (8-15, 3-6) to just 13 second-half points.

Harper added 10 points for the Eagles, who shot 47 percent from the floor and committed just four turnovers.

Javon McCrea scored 15 points and Will Regan had 12 for Buffalo.
