Streetsboro High School's Jordan Matusik has been chosen to participate in the Facebook vote-in competition of the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

The contest will feature 32 of the best dunkers and 3-point shooters in the country, all vying for a spot in the official event, which will be televised by CBS at 2 p.m. on April 6.

Voting for the first round of competition began on Thursday and will run through 1 p.m. on Feb. 20. Voting can be done at facebook.com/highschool slam. The top vote-getter from each matchup will advance to the quarterfinal round.

Matusik, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, was one of 16 3-point contestants selected as a finalist from around the country. Only one other player from Ohio was selected -- University School's Sam Bentz.

Matusik is averaging 17.1 points per game for the Rockets this season and has made a total of 54 3-pointers on the year. He set a single-game school record by knocking down eight 3s in a win over Crestwood earlier this season.
