Falcons, Vikings close out seasons on sour notes

WOODRIDGE 62, WATERLOO 52

The visiting Bulldogs (11-10, 8-6) raced to a 14-point halftime lead and cruised to a PTC County Division victory over the Vikings (3-19, 2-12) on Friday.

Sean McCoy produced game-highs of 21 points and nine rebounds to pace Woodridge, nailing five shots from 3-point range, while teammate Anthony Mong added 17 points.

Bobby Watson finished with 12 points and five rebounds to lead the way for Waterloo, while Austin Bozak and Collin Michalec added nine points each.

COVENTRY 54, FIELD 47

The visiting Comets outscored the Falcons 25-15 in the pivotal third quarter and went on to claim a PTC Metro Division triumph on Friday.

The game was tied 20-20 at halftime before Coventry blew it open in the third stanza, then held off Field in the final eight minutes.

Jesse Oravecz and Jimmy Holmgren led the Comets (12-10, 8-6) with 16 points each. Holmgren hit three 3-pointers, and Oravecz grabbed a team-leading nine rebounds.

Macklin Coleman was the top scorer for Field (6-16, 1-13) with 16 points, while Michael Poole contributed seven points and a game-high 10 boards.
