Record-Courier staff report
The Kent State men's basketball team is ready to open postseason play -- one day later than expected.
The Golden Flashes' home matchup with Fairfield that was originally scheduled for Tuesday night was postponed late Monday night when poor weather conditions delayed Fairfield's flight.
The delay pushed the game back one night, which will bring the Stags to Kent tonight for a 7 p.m. tipoff inside the M.A.C. Center for a first-round game of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
Fairfield's flight was originally scheduled for 10 p.m. on Monday, but a winter storm that hit New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts on Monday night forced a flight change. The schedule alteration put the Stags' arrival time at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The winner of tonight's game would advance to the second round of the CIT, with the game very likely being played on Saturday, though no official details for second-round games have been released yet.
