The Kent State men's basketball team opened practice on Monday at the M.A.C. Center in preparation for their trip to the Bahamas planned for Aug. 18-24.

In total, the Golden Flashes will conduct 10 days of practice with third-year head coach Rob Senderoff before leaving Kent.

Once on the islands of the Bahamas, KSU will play four games against national teams from the country during a seven-game tour played inside the Sir Kendal Isaac Gymnasium.

Kent State will stay at the Atlantis Resort and will spend its off days sightseeing and participating in team-building activities throughout the Caribbean island.

Under NCAA rules, schools are allowed to take an off-season foreign tour once every four years. The Golden Flashes' men's basketball program last traveled to Italy in August of 2009.
