The Kent Area Chamber of Commerce's 3rd annual Kickoff Luncheon was held on Wednesday at Dix Stadium in Kent. The event, which is one of the primary fundraisers for scholarships awarded to graduating Kent Roosevelt High School seniors, was attended by a record of 116 people. The luncheon has showed growth in each year of its existence. On Wednesday, first-year Kent State football coach Paul Haynes and his entire coaching staff spoke dynamically about the team's upcoming season and gave in-depth insight to the team's roster. The Golden Flashes will open the season at home against Liberty Univeristy on Aug. 29 at 6 p.m. It will feature pregame, in-game and postgame festivities sponsored by AMETEK.
