CLEVELAND -- Trey Lewis scored 23 points and Cleveland State opened the gates in the second half sending Ball State home with a 78-55 loss on Saturday night.

Cleveland State was up by seven (39-32) at halftime and shooting a whopping 62 percent but Ball State was still able to stay close by putting up more shots than the more methodical Vikings and making more free throws.

Cleveland State (4-3), who narrowly lost to Kentucky on Monday, finished the night shooting 63 percent and continued hitting the higher percentage short jumpers and inside the paint shots. The Cardinals (3-3) got no closer than four points at the beginning of the second half.

Central Michigan 66, Jacksonville State 61

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- Chris Fowler was 8-of-11 from the field, scoring 21 points, as Central Michigan held off Jacksonville State 66-61.

A Jamal Hunter tip-in followed by three free throws from Grant White and Hunter tightened the score to 56-53.

Buffalo 65, Delaware State 55

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Javon McCrea had nine points, eight rebounds and three blocks to lead Buffalo over Delaware State 65-55 on Saturday.

With his third block he reached 198 for his career -- passing Mitchell Watt for second in school history. It was McCrea's first game scoring under double digits since a Dec. 12, 2012 match against Washington State.

Buffalo (3-2) led 61-55 with 1:13 to play and held the Hornets to only one more shot attempt to seal the win.

Ohio 81, Evansville 59
