Former Kent State University men's golf star John Hahn, a native of Hudson, recently finished in a tie for sixth place at the Nelson Mandela Championship, which was held in KwaZulu Natal, South America.

The event is part of the PGA's European Tour and was Hahn's highest finish in his professional career.

Hahn shot 10-under (69-66-65), with the fourth round called off because of heavy rainfall. He earned $38,182.29 for the sixth-place finish.

Hahn made his debut on the European Tour last year at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, where he was disqualified. He then finished 47th at the Hong Kong Open in August.
