Record-Courier staff report

Will Jim Tressel have a chance to become then next head coach of the Cleveland Browns?

Maybe.

Multiple reports surfaced on Friday night that the Cleveland Browns were set to interview the former Ohio State University football coach to fill the void left by the firing of Rob Chudzinski last Sunday.

However, the Browns, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, have denied that the reports carry any truth.

Tressel is 61 years old and is currently working for the University of Akron in a non-athletic role as the executive vice president after serving as the university's vice president of strategic engagement.

Prior to working at Akron, Tressel was a consultant for the Indianapolis Colts.

Tressel resigned as the head coach of the Buckeyes prior to the 2011 season amidst controversy that he knowingly used ineligible players during 2010.
