PTC games cancelled because of dangerously low temperatures

Temperatures that dipped below zero and into unsafe territory led to the cancellations of athletic events throughout the Portage Trail Conference on Monday and tonight.

Even some events for Wednesday and Thursday have been postponed.

In almost all cases, whenever a school announces a closing, all extra-curricular activities are consequently cancelled. Team practices also are usually postponed as well.

Here is a list of the events reported cancelled, along with their corresponding rescheduled date if determined at this point:

Monday's cancellations

Girls Basketball

• Grand Valley at Windham, reschedule date TBA

Swimming

• Tallmadge at Crestwood, reschedule date TBA

Bowling

• Garfield at Woodridge, reschedule date TBA

• Kent Roosevelt at Norton, reschedule date TBA

Tuesday's cancellations

Boys Basketball

• Kent Roosevelt at Crestwood, rescheduled for Jan. 18, 7:30 p.m.

• Streetsboro at Garfield, rescheduled for Jan. 15, 7:30 p.m.

• Field at Coventry, reschedule date TBA

• Southeast at Ravenna, reschedule date TBA

• Woodridge at Rootstown, rescheduled for Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m.

• Springfield at Norton, rescheduled for Saturday

• Mogadore at Waterloo, rescheduled for Jan. 18, 7:30 p.m.

• Windham at Bloomfield, reschedule date TBA

Bowling

• Crestwood at Coventry, rescheduled for Jan. 14

• Rootstown at Southeast, reschedule for Jan. 14

Wednesday's cancellations
