Kent State-Akron men's basketball game to be on TV for MAC record 26th straight time

The first meeting between men's basketball rivals Kent State and Akron on Feb. 1 will be televised on TWC SportsChannel.

The game will be played at KSU's M.A.C. Center and is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip. The game will also be available on ESPN3 and WatchESPN.com.

The announcement that the game will be on TV marks the 26th consecutive time the game has been televised. The streak is the longest in the Mid-American Conference.

With the addition of the Akron game as a Wild Card selection, Kent State is now scheduled for a minimum of nine television appearances this season.

The Golden Flashes have already been previously featured on TV during games at Temple (Nov. 11), at Seton Hall (Nov. 13) and vs. Ohio last week (Jan. 8).

Upcoming TV games for KSU include at Buffalo on Saturday, at Toledo (Jan. 26), vs. Northern Illinois (Jan. 29), vs. Akron (Feb. 1), vs. Central Michigan (Feb. 15) and vs. Buffalo (Feb. 22).
