The Kent State women's golf team added Wad Phaewchimplee to its roster for the 2014 season.

The university announced the addition on Monday.

Phaewchimplee is a native of Thailand, where she is a member of the country's national team.

"We are very excited to have Wad join us this spring," said Kent State head coach Greg Robertson. "She is a talented player with a great work ethic, who brings a lot of international experience. I don't have any doubt that she'll fit in well with this team and have a successful college career at Kent State."

Phaewchimplee's best personal finishes include wins at the 4th Singha Thailand World Golf Championship and a win at the 28th Thailand National Youth Games.

She also finished 2nd in the Thailand Amateur Match Play Championship in 2012.

Joining Kent State from Bangkok, Phaewchimplee will have an immediate impact when the team begins their season on Feb. 16 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
