The Kent State women's basketball team dropped another double-digit loss on Wednesday on the road at Northern Illinois.
The Huskies earned a 65-43 victory over the Golden Flashes, who will next face Ball State at the M.A.C. Center in Kent on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Northern Illinois placed four players in double figures, with Amanda Corral leading the way with 13 points. Ashley Sneed added 12 points, while Jenna Thorp and Natecia Augusta both scored 10 points for the Huskies.
For the game, Northern Illinois shot 48 percent from the floor and were an efficient 11-of-14 from the free-throw line.
Kent State's offense was not as effective.
The Flashes shot 40 percent from the field and did not make a 3-pointer, though only shot four -- all coming in the second half.
At the free-throw line, KSU shot only 7-of-15.
Montia Johnson was the only Kent State player to reach double-digits. She scored a game-high 16 points on 7-of 12 shooting. She also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
No other player for the Flashes scored more than seven points, which were delivered by point guard Ashley Evans. Of Kent State's 18 made field goals in the game, only two came via assists. On the flipside, the Flashes turned the ball over 16 times. Fifteen of Northern Illinois' 26 made field goals were assisted.
The Huskies built a 33-20 lead by halftime, then slowly extended its advantage in the second half.
