Akron men's basketball's Nick Harney suspended indefinitely

Nick Harney, a senior forward on the Akron men's basketball team, was suspended indefinitely on Tuesday for conduct detrimental to the team.

Harney, a former Benedictine High School star, is third on the team in scoring at 8.9 points per game and also averages 3.6 rebounds per contest. He has played a key role the past three seasons for the Zips, averaging 9.5 points and 3.8 boards last season and 8.3 points per outing in 2011-12.

The defending Mid-American Conference Tournament champion Zips (16-7, 8-2), currently leading the East Division and tied for first overall, visit Western Michigan tonight.
