Record-Courier staff report

Portage County's last back-to-back state championship winner was Ty Mitch of Aurora in 2009 and 2010. The Portage County League and Portage Trail Conference have not had someone accomplish the feat since Neal Bailey did it for Southeast in 1994 and 1995.

Beginning today, Rootstown senior Travis Linton will get his chance to update those dates.
