Walk-off home run in ninth lifts Altoona past Akron RubberDucks, 3-2

ALTOONA, Pa. -- The Altoona Curve pushed a run across in the bottom of the ninth inning to hand the Akron RubberDucks a 4-3 loss Tuesday night in Altoona.

Trailing 1-0, Akron took a 2-1 lead in the third on RBI singles by left fielder Bryson Myles and shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Curve got the run back in the fifth to tie the game at 2-2, then Akron took its first and only lead of the night on catcher Tony Wolters' RBI double in the seventh.

Altoona tied the game in the bottom of the inning, then won it on right fielder Willy Garcia's one-out solo home run in the bottom of the ninth off RubberDucks reliever Tyler Sturdevant.

Akron starter Kyle Davies pitcher six innings in the no-decision, giving up two runs (both earned) on five hits, one walk and three strikeouts.
