Record-Courier staff report
On a night when the Akron RubberDucks were able to dodge the rain at Canal Park in order to get Monday's game in, they were not able to avoid the Thunder.
The Trenton Thunder scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning and no other scoring was done the remainder of the game in a 2-0 loss by the RubberDucks.
Akron managed only five hits in the game, as did Trenton, but they strung theirs together and Tyler Austin was one that delivered the big hit -- a two-run single.
For the game, the RubberDucks were 0-for-8 at the plate with runners in scoring position and left eight base-runners on.
Gabriel Arias got the start for Akron, losing and dropping his record to 1-1 in four innings of work. Duke von Schamann pitched five innings out of the bullpen.
