Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, who led all of the NFL in receiving yards last season with 1,646 yards, reportedly failed a drug test recently that could cost him all of the 2014 season.

Gordon’s alleged failed test was for marijuana and the news was first reported by ESPN’s Outside the Lines television show on Friday.

Gordon could be suspended indefinitely by the league since it is not his first issue with failed drug tests.

Gordon missed the first two games of the 2013 season for failing a test he said was the result of using cough syrup that contained codeine, which is a banned substance under the NFL’s policy. Gordon also was dismissed from the Baylor football team in college after being suspended twice for using marijuana. He transferred to Utah, but never played because he failed another drug test.

Reportedly, Gordon first found out of his failed drug test in the winter, then received a letter in April stating that he would face a 16-game suspension, but had the right to appeal.

Reached by phone on Friday, Gordon said: “That’s something you’re going to have to talk to [agent] Drew Rosenhaus about. I really don’t know anything about it.”

Asked whether he planned to dispute the test, Gordon said: “I’m going to have to find out about that later. You need to call Drew.” Gordon then hung up the phone.

Rosenhaus declined to comment, other than to say the information was “not true.”

I am a huge Browns' fan and know this will be a loss as far as "receivers" are concerned. However, this character apparently believes he is "too valuable" to follow the same rules as everyone else. Cut this loser loose! He is a disgrace. If they let him get away with this (AGAIN) it is sending the WRONG message to our young athletes! Goodbye Josh Gordon, and don't let the door hit you in the behind on your way out!
