Record-Courier staff report

Due to inclement weather, Thursday night's Diamond Classic for Kids at Canal Park in Akron was canceled. Kent State and Akron will play the series opener today at noon, followed by the regularly scheduled game at 6 p.m. Both games will be played at Schoonver Stadium in Kent.

Ticket proceeds from the noon game will still benefit Akron Children's Hospital. Fans attending the first game are asked to park in the Allerton lot and use the shuttle, as the parking lot adjacent to the stadium will be blocked off for the 6 p.m. game. The stadium will be cleared between games and separate admission will be required.

All ceremonies and events planned for the 100 Years of Baseball Celebration will go on as scheduled.

The series finale will remain at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Schoonover Stadium.
