Garrettsville native Colt Knost tied for sixth after first round of Cleveland Open

WESTLAKE -- Garrettsville native Colt Knost is in a tie for sixth place, four strokes back of leader Max Homa, after the first round of the Web.com Tour's Cleveland Open on Thursday at Lakewood Country Club.

Knost carded a 3-under-par 68 in Thursday's opening round. Homa sits in first place after a 7-under 64.

After a bogey on the second hole, Knost rebounded with birdies on Nos. 7 and 9 on the way to shooting a 35 on the front nine.

Knost then bogeyed No. 10, but again bounced back to birdie three holes -- Nos. 13, 16 and 17 -- en route to a 33 on the back nine for his 3-under 68 for the day.
