ERIE, Pa. -- Former Kent State standout Anthony Gallas went 4-for-5 with a home run, triple and three RBI as the Akron RubberDucks pounded the host Erie SeaWolves 10-3 on Tuesday night.
The Ducks broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the top of the fourth inning, with all five runs coming with two outs. Gallas started the onslaught with a solo home run, followed by an RBI single by Jordan Smith and capped by a three-run homer by Jake Lowery.
Akron pushed the lead to 7-0 in the fifth on an RBI double by Erik Gonzalez and an RBI single by Gallas.
The Ducks then went up 10-0 in the seventh on Gallas' RBI triple, a sacrifice fly by Tony Wolters and Lowery's RBI single.
Akron starter Gabriel Arias (6-2) picked up the win, holding Erie to just one run (earned) on seven hits and two walks in 62⁄3 innings of work.
