Three RubberDucks to play in Eastern League All-Star Game

The Akron RubberDucks had three players selected to play in the Eastern League All-Star Game tonight.

Shortstop Francisco Lindor, starting pitcher Joe Colon (right-hander) and right-hander relief pitcher Shawn Armstrong were all named to the team.

Armstrong, 23, is the team's closer and ranks fifth in the league with 11 saves. He has only three blown saves this year and has a 4-1 record.

Colon, 24, has emerged as the Akron pitching staff's ace. He is 8-4 with a 2.63 earned-run average in 17 starts. Only Portland lefty Henry Owens has a better ERA in the league. Colon has 68 strikeouts against 35 walks.

Lindor, 20, has a .279 batting average, along with six home runs and 44 RBI. He is the RubberDucks team leader in stolen bases with 20.

Tonight's game will be played at People's Natural Gas Field in Altoona. It will begin at 7 p.m.
