Record-Courier staff report
Sarchione Auto Group confirmed on Thursday morning with the Record-Courier that their newest employee is suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon.
Jeff Sarchione, co-owner of the Randolph-based auto sales company, said that Gordon will join the staff as a salesman and will “completely immerse himself in the day-to-day activities” of the business.
“If you want to buy a car from Josh, you will be able to do that,” Sarchione said. “If you want to buy a truck from Josh, you will be able to do that. Josh will be available and he is going to be part of a lot of what we do. If we need some cars moved around, need vehicles washed or snow moved, he is going to be part of that also.”
Gordon was suspended by the NFL for the entire 2014 season after violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
“Josh is the best wide receiver in the NFL and playing football is still his No. 1 priority,” Sarchione said. “But it will be nice to be a part of helping Josh get his life back on track.
“We expect Josh will be a great ambassador for us,” Sarchione said. “We want to continue to do more and more community outreach projects, and we feel Josh will look forward to helping us in those.”
Sarchione said his sister-in-law Alex Sarchione, the company’s Internet and advertising coordinator, did the majority of the leg work with the hiring of Gordon.
Gordon had no prior relationship with the auto dealer and Alex Sarchione made a cold call to the agency that represents Gordon.
