PTC Boys Golf Tournament

Record-Courier staff report Published: September 21, 2016 11:13 PM

It was a banner day for the Rootstown Rovers and Field Falcons at the PTC Tournament on Wednesday at Sable Creek Golf Course in Hartville.

Literally, since both teams will receive a championship banner to hang in their gymnasiums.

Rootstown earned the County Division Tournament championship and Field won the Metro Division tourney to continue the success they achieved during the regular season to win. Both teams also captured the overall championship in their respective divisions.

For the Falcons, it was a total team effort that saw them take home two of the top five individual place-finishes in the Metro Division.

For the Rovers, Laszlo Horvath, only a sophomore, made the difference in a close competition at the top of the County Division Tournament as he tied the individual record for the 12-year-old tourney, scoring a 1-under-par 71.
