The Kent State football team (1-2) will take on defending National Champion and No. 1-ranked Alabama (3-0) on Saturday at noon in Tuscaloosa.
The Golden Flashes have been a lucky charm for perennial national powers Alabama and Ohio State. Kent State lost to the Buckeyes during their national title seasons in 2002 (51-17) and 2014 (66-0), and fell to OSU 48-3 during the national runner-up season of 2007.
The last time the Flashes met the Crimson Tide was in 2011, when Alabama earned a 48-7 season-opening win on the way to the first of two consecutive national crowns.
Kent State is a 44-point underdog in this year's matchup according to oddsmakers.
