IT REALLY HAPPENED
While many of you have been affected by the closing of four courses in Portage County, so were the Record-Courier Portage County Amateurs.
Fortunately, Sugar Bush Golf Course in Garrettsville and Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield stepped up to save the day, adding their names to the roster of courses hosting the four tournaments this season alongside Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna.
Golfers will be pleased that morning times are available for all events except the Kids Am which is traditionally in the cool of the evening so parents and young golfers can enjoy the tournament together.
Registration is now available online for the amateurs at http://www.recordpub.com/section/golf%20registration or simply go to www.recordpub.com and click on the submissions tab along the right side.
Registration forms will be at golf courses prior to May 1 allowing golfers to register onsite or mail in the info.
The Portage County Amateurs offers our continued appreciation to Windmill Lakes and our thanks to Sugar Bush and Sunny Hill for welcoming the competitors ranging in age from 6 to 90-plus competing in the events.
