CANTON -- Turf installation began this week at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and is expected to last 17 days.

Seat installation on the south stands and construction of the premium seating also is under way.

The 23,000-seat stadium is scheduled to be open by Aug. 3 for the Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals and also will host the weekend's Enshrinement and Concert for Legends.

The only portions of the venue that won't be finished will be the east end zone -- which will have temporary seating -- and the scoreboard in the west end zone, which also will be temporary for the game. Stadium construction is expected to be done in 2018.

The construction on the south stands includes three levels of specialty seating: a level for club seats, a level for traditional and luxury suites that will include flexible space to accommodate media, and a rooftop level. The west end zone will have four party decks, where up to 800 people can socialize during games.

The north stands of the stadium debuted during last summer's enshrinement week. They feature a permanent stage built into the stands at the 50-yard line and underground dressing rooms for performers.

Cost of the stadium is estimated at $137 million.
