Kent State junior golfer Ian Holt, a former Stow High School star, earned 2016-17 All-American honors from Golfweek along with Golden Flashes freshman phenom Pimnipa Panthong.
Panthong was named to the second team, while Holt received honorable-mention recognition.
Holt was named 2017 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year. He finished the season with a stroke average of 71.54, one tournament victory and eight top-10 finishes. Holt finished second at the NCAA Regional, and was one of only five players in the nation to reach 160 birdies.
Panthong, a native of Thailand, earned MAC Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors. She set a school record with a 71.49 scoring average, led the nation with 139 birdies, and finished her first collegiate season with two wins, three runner-ups, and eight top-5 finishes.
Kent State's women's team finished fifth, while the men's squad wound up 21st at the 2017 NCAA National Championships.
